Responsibilities
- Attach and secure loads safely using suitable slings, chains and shackles.
- Select the right lifting gear for the weight and shape of the load.
- Inspect lifting gear before use and remove defective items from service.
- Give signals to the crane operator and guide the load during the lift.
- Follow the lift plan; secure the lifting zone and keep unauthorized people out.
- Comply with safety rules and work at height requirements.
Requirements
- Valid Rigger certificate from a recognized body.
- 3+ years of rigging experience on construction sites.
- Knowledge of safe working loads (SWL) and lifting signals.
- Physically fit and able to work at height.
- Consistent use of personal protective equipment.
