Responsibilities
- Plan lifting operations (cranes and equipment); prepare lift plans and permits.
- Verify certificates of cranes, rigging gear and load charts.
- Supervise riggers, operators and signalmen.
- Define and secure lifting zones and keep unauthorized people out.
- Inspect and tag lifting gear; remove defective items from service.
- Report incidents and near misses.
Requirements
- Valid Lifting Supervisor certificate (or equivalent) from a recognized body.
- 5+ years of lifting operations experience on construction sites.
- Knowledge of load calculations and crane load charts.
- Commitment to safety procedures.
